Competency Goals
Competency goals, or competencies, define the key abilities that students are expected to develop and demonstrate upon completing an academic program at GIM. These goals align with the institute’s mission and career expectations and are shaped through inputs from faculty, alumni, recruiters, and institutional leadership. They guide curriculum design and academic processes. Faculty are expected to be aware of these goals and actively contribute to their achievement through their teaching.

Each competency is broken down into specific, measurable traits. For each trait, performance expectations are defined through rubrics that classify student performance as Below Expectation (BE), Meeting Expectation (ME), or Exceeding Expectation (EE). Demonstrating all traits within a competency indicates that the student has achieved that competency.
